Karlstein Opening

SOLAYER OPENS NEW TECHNOLOGY HOUSE

karlstein Dresden, November 2016 – Solayer opened a new technology center in Karlstein, near Frankfurt am Main in the third quarter. The new team of scientists and engineers had already been working together for many years and can look back on many years of experience in the field of vacuum process technology.

The core competences of the team are in particular the development and production of customer-specific coating systems for mass production. Solayer will benefit from the existing methodological competence to develop such plants with a clear focus on design to cost and the given time to market windows. Many of the employees have more than 25 years of experience with vacuum systems – especially with vertical / horizontal inline, cluster-based and roll-2-roll equipment for the large area coating in Photovoltaics, Display and Glass Coating industries. The team’s experiences give Solayer access to wider market segments and will significantly increase Solayer’s market penetration in the vacuum equipment business.

For the development of novel and innovative equipment, the Karlstein site has an integrated design, simulation and software department, complemented by an R&D center with a focus on process and component development. Supplemented by the qualified operation department, the site can guarantee the entire process from customer-specific development to delivery and support during production ramp-up.

Vacuum coating is an inherent key technology for the manufacturing of unique products these days. Unique equipment, which is perfectly tailored to individual customer requirements, offers an exceptional advantage to producers. The Karlstein team is used to focus on customer-needs from the first moment on. Hereby, the equipment meets the highest customer demands for quality and yield with the focus on low capital investment and optimized production cost.
